Your 6 days tour from Tangier begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Tangier. We travel through the Rif Mountains and Tetouan city, enjoying the magnificent views, until we reach Chefchaouen, a picturesque village at the foot of the Rif Mountains. Chefchaouen’s medina features a Spanish-style square, surrounded by arts and crafts shops, restaurants, and cafes where you can have lunch. We then continue to Fes for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, the day is dedicated to exploring Fes, the oldest of the imperial cities and a center of Arab-Muslim culture. Visit the Mosque of the Andalusians, tanneries, the potters’ district, and the medina. Enjoy lunch in a palace in the medina, then continue to see the Hispano-Moorish buildings and Medersas Nejjarine.
We depart south to Ifrane and Azrou through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop at cedar forests to see monkeys in their natural habitat. Travel through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass and the Ziz Gorges, witnessing the changing landscape as we approach Errachidia. After lunch, continue through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, Rissani, and finally Merzouga. Here, we embark on a camel trek to a Berber camp in the dunes of Erg Chebbi, the highest sand dunes in North Africa. Spend the night in a beautiful camp, equipped with mattresses, blankets, and pillows. After dinner, gather around the fire to enjoy traditional Berber songs and drums under the stars.
Wake up early to witness a beautiful sunrise over the dunes. Take a camel ride back to the hotel for breakfast and a shower, then leave for Tinghir and the Todra Gorges. Continue to the Dades Valley, where we will have dinner and spend the night.
After breakfast, drive through the Dades Valley to Kalaat M’Gouna and Ouarzazate. The Road of a Thousand Kasbahs offers plenty of photo opportunities. Visit the Valley of Roses and the village of Skoura, then continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa.” Enjoy lunch at the famous Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, the largest Kasbah in Morocco. After visiting this UNESCO site, journey through the majestic Tizi n’Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains, stopping to enjoy the stunning views. Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
Explore Marrakech, the “Red City of Morocco.” Your city guide will show you all the sites of historical and cultural interest, including the Minaret Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian tombs, Bahia Palace, and the Ben Youssef Koranic school. Stroll through the medina, observing craftsmen at work, before arriving at the famous Djamaa El Fna square. Enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant, then visit the Majorelle Gardens and the Gueliz district. After dinner, you will have the opportunity to explore the vibrant nightlife of Djamaa El Fna, entertained by magicians, storytellers, and food vendors. The private tour concludes in Marrakech.
