On this 6 days tour from Casablanca to Marrakech via the Sahara Desert, you’ll explore Morocco imperial cities and spend an unforgettable night under the stars in the heart of the Merzouga Sahara Desert, amidst the famous Erg Chebbi dunes. Explore stunning landscapes, wide valleys, dunes, ravines, mountain passes and camouflaged cities, as well as forts crowning the hills. Meet locals and immerse yourself in the rich Moroccan culture.
Start your tour with a visit to Casablanca, including the Hassan II Mosque. Proceed to Rabat to see the Hassan Tower and the Mohammed V Mausoleum. Continue to Meknes, stopping at the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a World Heritage Site. After lunch, head to Fes, where you’ll check into your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, explore Fes with a local guide. Visit the Mellah (Jewish Quarter), the Plaza of the Dyers, Fes el Bali (the old medina), Fes el Jdid (the new medina), the Andalusian Mosque, and other sites. Return to your riad for dinner and an overnight stay.
Depart for the Merzouga Desert, passing through Ifrane (known as the Moroccan “Swiss-style” town) and Azrou, where you’ll see cedar forests and Barbary Apes. Stop for lunch in Midelt and continue through the Ziz Valley, admiring its red gorges and lush oasis. Arrive in Merzouga, prepare for your camel trek, and enjoy a sunset ride to your desert camp. Have dinner, enjoy live Berber music, and spend the night under the starry sky.
Wake up early to watch the sunrise, then visit a nomad family and have lunch under a tree, tasting Berber pizza. In the afternoon, explore the desert in a 4×4, visiting an oasis, the village of Khamlia (known for its Gnawa music), fossil sites, and Berber nomad families living on the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Return to the camp for dinner, music, and an overnight stay in a Berber tent.
After a morning camel trek back to the riad and a chance to shower, head to Rissani to visit its large market. Continue to the Draa Valley, taking pictures of the stunning landscapes. Arrive in Ouarzazate, where you’ll check into your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, visit the Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate, then proceed to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, famous for its appearances in films like “Lawrence of Arabia” and “Gladiator.” Continue to the Kasbah of Telouet, and then cross the High Atlas Mountains, enjoying the scenery and stopping for photos. Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon, concluding your 6-day tour from Casablanca.
