Your journey begins with a convenient pickup from your riad or hotel in Fes. We venture south, passing through the charming town of Ifrane, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and onward to Azrou, known for its lush cedar forests and the native Barbary apes.
We traverse the scenic Tizi Ntalghamt pass to reach Midelt and continue through the stunning Ziz Gorges, carved from volcanic rock. As we approach Errachidia, the landscape transforms, hinting at the desert ahead.
After a leisurely lunch, we drive through the picturesque Ziz Valley, reaching Erfoud, Rissani, and finally Merzouga. Upon arrival, enjoy a welcoming glass of mint tea before embarking on a camel ride into the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes. This hour-and-a-half journey culminates at a well-equipped Berber camp. As night falls, relish a traditional dinner and gather around the campfire to enjoy the rhythm of Berber drums under a canopy of stars.
