Itinerary

Your 5 days tour from Fes to Marrakech begins with a pick-up from your riad or hotel in Fes around 8:30 am. The journey takes you through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in the charming town of Ifrane, often called “Little Switzerland” for its alpine-style architecture. Continue to the Azrou cedar forest, where you can observe the playful Barbary apes in their natural habitat. Pass through the scenic Tiz Ntalghamt Pass and marvel at the Ziz Gorge before stopping for lunch in Midelt. As you approach Merzouga, you’ll be greeted by the mesmerizing views of the Ziz Valley and its lush palm groves. Upon arrival in Merzouga, enjoy a refreshing cup of mint tea and settle into your hotel, located at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes.

Spend the second day exploring the enchanting Merzouga region. Begin with a visit to the village of Khamlia, home to the Gnawa people originally from Mali, and enjoy their hypnotic music. Next, journey to the Miffis Mines to learn about the ancient mining techniques still used today. Traverse the dramatic desert landscape, stopping for a traditional Berber tea with a local nomadic family. In the afternoon, embark on a camel trek into the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes, where you’ll watch the sun set over the vast expanse of sand. Spend the night in a traditional Berber camp, enjoying a delicious tagine dinner, listening to Berber music around the campfire, and gazing at the starlit sky.

Rise early to witness an unforgettable sunrise over the dunes, casting beautiful shadows and hues across the sand. After breakfast, return to Merzouga by camel or 4WD and continue your journey to Tinghir, home to the stunning Todra Gorges. These towering limestone cliffs, reaching heights of 200 meters, are perfect for hiking and photography. Enjoy lunch in the heart of the gorge before traveling through the Dades Valley, known for its dramatic rock formations and scenic beauty. Conclude the day with an overnight stay in a charming hotel perched on the mountainside, offering panoramic views of the valley below.

After breakfast, drive along the road of 1000 Kasbahs, a region dotted with ancient fortified homes. Visit the impressive Dades Valley and the picturesque Rose Valley, famous for its annual Rose Festival. Continue to Skoura, a lush oasis lined with palm groves and crumbling kasbahs. Arrive in Ouarzazate, where you’ll visit the famous Atlas Studios, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” and the historic Taourirt Kasbah. Spend the night in a comfortable hotel in Ouarzazate, preparing for the final leg of your journey.

On the final day of your 5 days tour from Fes to Marrakech, explore the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a striking example of southern Moroccan architecture and a popular filming location for many Hollywood movies. Continue through the High Atlas Mountains, passing through the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Stop at the traditional Berber village of Telouet and visit the Kasbah el Glaoui. Enjoy a leisurely lunch in a local restaurant before descending into the vibrant city of Marrakech, where your tour concludes with a drop-off at your accommodation, leaving you with unforgettable memories of your Moroccan adventure.
