Itinerary

Begin your 8 days tour from Marrakech with a morning. Travel through the awe-inspiring High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N-Tichka pass, which reaches 2,260 meters above sea level. Stop at the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its traditional adobe architecture and its role in famous films like Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. Continue to Ouarzazate, often referred to as the “Gateway to the Sahara,” where you’ll visit the Kasbah Taourirt and explore the Atlas Film Studios. Arrive in Boumalne Dades for dinner and an overnight stay at a charming traditional Riad or hotel.

After a hearty Moroccan breakfast, depart for the Todra Gorges. Walk through this impressive canyon, renowned for its towering cliffs and scenic beauty. Continue towards Merzouga, passing through the town of Tinghir. Enjoy a traditional lunch before arriving at the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga. Embark on a camel trek into the desert, reaching the heart of the dunes in time for a spectacular sunset. Experience a traditional Berber dinner with live music and spend the night in a luxurious or standard desert camp, marveling at the star-filled sky.

Start the day early to catch the sunrise over the dunes, a truly unforgettable experience. After breakfast, return to Merzouga on camelback. Set out on an off-road adventure around the sand dunes, visiting local Berber villages such as Khamlia, known for its rich Gnawa music heritage. Enjoy a warm welcome with traditional tea and explore the nomadic lifestyle of the region. Discover abandoned mines, palm oases, and scenic landscapes before heading back to Merzouga. Spend the afternoon exploring the local streets at your leisure.

Depart from the Sahara Desert and journey towards Midelt. En route, visit Rissani and Erfoud, where you can wander through authentic souks and experience local shopping. Continue through the Ziz Valley, renowned for its palm groves and dramatic gorges carved through volcanic rock. Travel through the Tizi N Talghamt pass, arriving in Midelt for an overnight stay. Enjoy dinner and rest in a comfortable hotel.

Travel from Midelt to Fes, passing through the picturesque Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop at the Cedar Forest near Azrou to see Barbary apes and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. Continue to Ifrane, often called “The Switzerland of Morocco” due to its alpine architecture and scenery. Arrive in Fes, where you’ll check into your hotel or Riad and have the evening free to explore or relax.

Experience the rich history and culture of Fes with a guided walking tour of the ancient medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore key historical sites such as the Nejjarin Museum, Al Quaraouin University (the oldest university in Morocco), and the Jewish Quarter. View the famous Fes leather tanneries from above and enjoy a free afternoon to further explore the city’s vibrant souks and historic landmarks. Overnight in your hotel or Riad.

Depart from Fes to Rabat, with stops in Meknes and Volubilis. At Volubilis, explore the ruins of this ancient Roman city, a UNESCO World Heritage site that offers insights into Morocco’s Roman past. In Meknes, visit the impressive Bab El Mansour gate, the bustling Lahdim Square, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, which was once the only mosque in Morocco open to non-Muslims. Continue to Rabat, Morocco’s political capital, where you’ll visit the Kasbah of the Udayas, Hassan Tower, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. Overnight in a Rabat hotel or Riad.

On the final day of your tour, travel from Rabat to Marrakech with a stop in Casablanca. Visit the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in Africa, renowned for its impressive minaret, which is the tallest in the world. After exploring Casablanca, return to Marrakech.
